PROTECTING THE CHILD while ADVOCATING FOR THE FAMILY

The Family Center staff provides family therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, life skills, and family preservation services, as required by the situation. In addition to general psychotherapy services, The Family Center staff specializes extensively in areas of trauma, sexual abuse, family violence, parent-child conflicts, , and mental health issues, such as mood disorders, PTSD, and anxiety.

The Family Center has been serving families since 1989. Our primary referral sources are varied and include the United States Military, Comcor, Cedar Springs, Peak Vista, El Paso County Department of Human Services, Primary Care Providers, the VA and current and past clients.  We receive referrals from numerous other organizations involved with the child welfare system, including The Office of the Guardian Ad Litem, El Paso County District Courts, The District Attorney, El Paso County Probation, TESSA, Safe Passage, and The Department of Youth Corrections.

We provide training for many of these organizations on a regular basis.

SAFE PASSAGE OFFICES

The Family Center has recently added therapy offices that are co-located in the new Safe Passage location! In collaboration with Safe Passage, Kid Power, UC Health and CSPD, we all work to provide more seamless support and intervention for children and families who have experienced child sexual abuse.
